Week of January 2, 2007
Happy New Year everyone! Here’s hoping you had a great holiday season. Now back to work! Attendance from this point on is crucial to your success. Do not come to me and complain about your times if you come to practice less than four times a week!
Our meet this Saturday, January 6 is at Ashland with the meet starting early. Be at Ashland’s pool by 9:15 a.m.; we warm-up at 9:30 a.m. and the meet starts at 10:00 a.m.
Ashland’s address is 207 Miller St., Ashland, OH 44805. If you have only swum in one dual meet so far this season, this Ashland meet is mandatory! If you have only swum in two dual meets so far this season, attending this week’s meet will qualify you to attend Divisionals. We have about 20 swimmers that need that one last meet. Get your meets in as it is mandatory that every Neptune swimmer compete at Divisionals which we are hosting.
Signing off at meets – By now you should have signed off if you will not be attending the Ashland meet this Saturday. If your name is not on that sign-off sheet, or if you have not sent me an email by today – January 2 – you are required to be at Ashland! The past few meets have been very frustrating as swimmers just do not show up! I am not talking about those that get sick, or an emergency comes up and they call me at home to let me know they will not be attending. I am talking about those swimmers who just decide not to attend and I am left in the dark about it! Enough! I have an email address, a phone number and there is the sign-off sheet. We are far enough into the season that, “Oops, I forgot,” does not suffice!
Divisionals – Please look on the Neptune Info Board and on the website concerning information about Divisionals – working the meet, donating money to the concession stand, etc. Everyone’s participation is mandatory.
Banquet – If you are planning on attending the Neptunes Swim Banquet, Friday March 9, please call Melanie Emerson at 330-427-2946. We are not asking for ticket payment at this time. We just need to know who will be attending so we know how many to people to plan for.
High School swimmers will be meeting at BW3’s at 6:30 p.m. before practice on Friday, January 5. Everyone should plan to attend!
High School coaches – will be meeting at 7:00 p.m. with Coach Sue in the Youth Lobby concerning the high school swim season and practices. Be sure to be there!
New Year’s Resolutions – Have you made yours concerning swimming? Do they include attending practice, working hard when in practice and giving your best efforts at meets? They should! You will be amazed at what can happen when you set goals and go for them! I am excited to see what January and February bring as we gear up for our big meets! Get to practice, get motivated and get results!!!
