Congratulations Neptunes on your undefeated season!!!  I have to say that I was so extremely impressed with how everyone swam on Saturday.  Yes, Trumbull’s team was small and it was a given we would win our last meet based on team size, but everyone on the Neptunes came to swim!  We had 107 personal bests!! Many of these were achieved because Neptunes “pushed” other Neptunes in an effort to help best times be achieved.  And they were.  Congratulations to Corey Burrelli (with the help of Ryan Nasci) on his 13-14 Boys 100 yard breaststroke Zone cut.  Congratulations to the 9 & 10 Boys Medley (which dropped two seconds from their Zone time) and Free (which dropped 10 seconds to achieve a Zone time) Relays for their achievements.  Thanks to the 11 & 12 Boys Medley and Free Relays for helping them do so!  Tom Boniface and Chad Henson pushed each other to personal best times in the 15-18 Boys 100 yard backstroke with Chad’s time being a Zone cut.  Brian Cowles earned a Zone time for the 13-14 Boys 50 Free off the front of the 13-14 Boys 200 yard Freestyle relay.  Morgan McCarty earned a Youngstown YMCA Pool Record (not easy to do) for her winning time in the 15-18 Girls 100 yard breaststroke.  A round of applause to you all!

Wow – what a day!  There were many, many other great swims at Saturday’s meet, as well.  8 & Under Dani Cabrera made personal best times in every event she swam, as did Delaney Reardon, and Dom Velasquez.  In the 9 & 10 age group, Kelly Kozicky, Olivia Williamson, Beth Zeno, and Adam Weiss did the same.  In the 11 & 12 age group – Kelsey Granchie, Kayleigh Lavorini, Laura McEwan, and Emily Shipley achieved PB times in all of their events, as did 13 & 14 swimmers, Abbey Christopher, Lauren Johnson, Sam Cervone, Michael Henson, and Tanner Knight and 15 & 18 swimmers, Adge Buckley, Heather Kennehan, Becca Marrie, Morgan McCarty, and Chad Henson.  Let’s keep this kind of momentum going into Divisionals. Your hard work at practice is paying off!  Come to practice as often as possible!!!

Divisionals is Saturday, February 4th at Bedford High School in Bedford Heights, Ohio – also known as the Southeast YMCA - which is located on 460 Northfield Rd., Bedford Heights, Ohio. Fee envelopes were passed out at Saturday’s meet to those I saw.  I still have a pile of envelopes.  Please see me to get your envelope if you have not yet received it.  We need all the money in by this Thursday!

Presidential Invitational – Please get your Presidential Invitational entries written-up and turned into Coach Sue with your fees ASAP.  Remember – you get to choose what you swim. Coach Sue will not automatically enter you as she does for dual meets.  You must fill out an entry form and turn it in with the entry fees due to Coach Sue no later than February 10.  Do not include relays with your entries.  Coach Sue will make up relays based on who is coming and you will be billed for relay fees at the meet. Parents – remember – everyone works this meet, so sign-up for what job you would like to do.  Also – remember to turn in your $10 concession stand fee so we can feed the masses! This is a great fund-raising event, but we need everyone’s help to make it a success!  Thanks in advance.

Banquet News – Our banquet this year will be Friday, March 10 at The Embassy in Struthers.  Please sign-up with the number of people who will be attending from your family on the sign-up sheet now posted on the Neptune Info Board.  This way we will know what size room to reserve.
