Sorry about the lack of a newsletter last week! Here’s hoping this issue catches everyone up on what’s happening!
Congratulations Neptunes! We won our meet against Ashland. It was a bit rough, but we ended up on top. Swimming in a meter pool made it apparent that everyone needs to get to practice! It was especially telling on your finishes. Several races were lost in the last five meters. So… come to practice this week, work hard and see just how well you swim when we meet up with North Canton this Saturday!
Our next and final dual meet will take place this Saturday, January 20 at North Canton. Their address is 200 South Main Street, North Canton, OH 44720. Be at their pool by 1:00 p.m.; we warm-up at 1:20 p.m. and the meet starts at 1:45 p.m. North Canton is a super-tough team and we need all Neptune swimmers in attendance in order to do well. North Canton is easy to get to and not a great distance away so plan to be there to support your team! Come to practice and prepare to you swim your best!
All payments are due at this time. The Divisional concession stand fee of $10 per Neptune family is due by this Saturday, as are all payments for swim caps (see me if you have not yet picked yours up!), and outstanding swim team dues. Please put all payments in an envelope marked what it is for and give the fees to Kathy Affagato. If you are not sure if you owe money, a list will be posted next Monday, January 22 or you can call Kathy at 330-755-3609. We want to have all outstanding debts taken care of before sending out Divisional entry fee envelopes which will be going out next week. Thanks in advance for getting this taken care of.
Speaking of Divisionals – Divisional Info is now posted on-line at www.neoyswim.org. We are Division 1. Also, be sure you have signed up for a job at Divisionals. Remember all families must work this meet as we are hosting it. You can sign-up on the Neptune Info Board or call Melanie Emerson at 330-427-2946 to secure the job you want or one will be assigned to you. Please get this done by this Thursday, January 18. You can then check your job assignment after Janaury 24 by visiting the www.neoyswim.org website and clicking on the Volunteer link on the Division 1 page.
The Neptunes Banquet – will be held Sunday, March 11 at the Georgetown. This is a date change since the last newsletter. We changed to this date because this is when we could get the Georgetown, which we need in order to accommodate our large group! More information will be coming out on this soon.
In the meantime – remember that we have a Chinese Auction at our banquet. There are great sales going on right now, so maybe plan ahead and pick up a bargain to raffle off at the banquet. The Chinese auction is one of our main fund-raisers for the year, and it is lots of fun. So start looking for that special item that will make the swimmers stuff that bag full of tickets!
