Wow, wow, wow!!! Some pretty fantastic swimming took place at Divisionals on Saturday.  Coach Stacy was trying to keep track of his top five “favorite swims,” but that was tough – there were so many!  How about Hilary Allen’s major time drop in the 500 free.  Or Brian Cowles 200 free finish.  Then there was Gia Velasquez’s IM and breaststroke.  Our 13-14 relays dominated!  Our 9 & 10 boys’ relays gave us heart attacks!  Seconds were dropping off of personal best times like crazy.  So you know… your efforts earned you Division Runner-Up honors, so give yourself a great big “high five” for a phenomenal day!

Leagues – I will know by practice on Tuesday (so I’m told) who has qualified for Leagues on Saturday, March 4 at the University of Akron.  See last week’s newsletter to see how League qualifiers are determined.  League info is now posted on the Neptune Info Board.  If you qualify – you must attend!  You will also have League fees like Divisional fees and I’ll get those envelopes made out and in your mailboxes, by week’s end.  I still have some people who owe for Divisionals.  Please get those fees to me ASAP.

Presidential Invitational entries are due!!!  Get these to me!  I strongly suggest that everyone take advantage of this meet in order to try for Zone times if you are close and Personal Best times so you can earn more ribbons.  YSU’s pool is FAST so enter to swim! If you do not qualify for Leagues; you can still come to practice if you are swimming at our invitational, so get your entries in to me.  Remember – fees must be included with your entries!

Invitational at Tusc. – There is information posted on the Neptune Info Board about an invitational to be held Sunday, February 26 at Tuscawaras.  Again, you choose what you want to swim.  Entries for this meet are due to me by next Monday, February 12.

Swim Banquet – Our Neptune Swim Banquet is Friday, March 10.  Please sign-up on the sheet on the Neptunes Info Board to tell us if you are coming and how many in your family are planning to attend.  We need to give The Embassy a ballpark # so we have enough space.  Also, Banquet ticket info is in your mailboxes.  Get your money in for the Banquet!

Also know at the banquet we hold a Chinese Auction during the awards ceremony.  We ask that each family bring one item for us to raffle off.  In years past, we have had items like movie money, swim towels, toys, restaurant gift certificates, bath and body lotion baskets; families even go together to bring in larger items like TVs, iPods and Speedo swim bags.  Use your imagination!  And start looking now so our Chinese Auction is a hit!
