Congratulations high school swimmers!  We had many, many fabulous swims on Friday and Saturday as our high school swimmers competed at their respective Sectionals. Many swimmers dropped significant chunks of time and several qualified for Districts at Cleveland State next weekend.  If you would like to see how our swimmers did, go to www.swimmeet.com, type in your zip code and then look at the Northeast Sectional results.  We have swimmers who competed at Sectionals held at Canton, Akron, and Hawken.

Practices times through Leagues have been adjusted and the updated times are in your mailboxes. All League, District and Zone qualifiers need to get to as many practices as possible!  There are only a few weeks left in the season.  Now is the time to get serious about being in the water and working.  I expect to see you at practice!

League fees that are due will be in your mailboxes this week.  If you had not paid your Divisional fees or Concessions stand fee, those will be added to your total due.  Please get this money turned into Coach Sue or Kathy Affagato by next week so we can close the books on this season.  Thank you for your help with this.

Zone Qualifiers – I would like to have a meeting with all qualifiers and parents this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Youth Lobby weather permitting. If we have to cancel practice on Wednesday, we will hold the meeting on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. There are also some people close to qualifying that I will be contacting who I think should attend this meeting as well.  We will be discussing hotel rooms, ordering Zone apparel, discussing fees due, getting phone numbers together for a call sheet for when we are in Columbus; things that need to be addressed. I will also be posting information about Last Chance Meets (where people close to Zone times try to achieve a time); especially the meet to be held in North Canton, Sunday March 4.  I want to take a big group to this meet to try for Zone times if they had not yet been achieved at Leagues the day before. Please attend this meeting!

If you listen to the weather, it appears we are in for a big storm starting Tuesday morning.  Be sure to watch the closings that appear at the bottom of the TV screen starting at 2:00 p.m. to see if practice is cancelled.  You can also call the Y, but wait until 3:00 p.m. to do so.  If we cancel practice due to the weather, I will see if I can get in touch with our webmaster, so we get that info on the website as well.

Banquet information is in your mailboxes.  Be sure to pick up this information!  Also, keep looking for Chinese Auction items.  If you already have your donation, give it to Melanie Emerson.  By having the items ahead of time, she can then determine how much space to set aside for the auction at the banquet, and also have the auction set up at the banquet before the doors open. Thanks in advance for your generous donations!
