Neptune News
Third meet news – Our meet this Saturday is home against Wooster. They will be bringing about 70 swimmers. Be at our pool by 12:15 to warm-up at 12:30. Also, this meet is our food drive meet. All week we will be collecting canned food and dry goods for the Rescue Mission. There are containers in the Youth Lobby for the food collection. If every family brings two items for the food drive (no glass containers, please!), we will be able to make a fantastic donation to the Rescue Mission, and I’m sure make a huge difference for needy families this Thanksgiving. We will be collecting all week and at the meet on Saturday. I spoke with Wooster’s coach and she is going to have her kids participate as well, which will be a great help. Thanks to everyone ahead of time for participating in this event.
Hy-Tek – A representative from Hy-Tek will be coming to our meet this Saturday to help us learn how to use our new equipment. The rep will also be hosting an informational meeting early Saturday morning before the meet to discuss using Meet Manager and Team Manager. If you would be interested in attending this meeting to learn how these programs work, call Coach Sue at 330-424-1128.
Workers and Concession items needed – Be sure to sign up to work and/or bring food items for the concessions stand for this Saturday’s meet. The sign-up sheet is posted on the Neptune Info Board. Thanks in advance for your help with this.
DVD Presentation – Coach Sue will again be showing DVDs concerning stroke technique this Tuesday from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m. in Room 203 upstairs. We will be showing the backstroke DVD. Plan to attend in order to learn new drills and see how backstroke looks when swum properly, including turns.
Swim Clinic – Thanks to everyone who attended the turns clinic this past Friday. Coach Stacy said everyone worked hard, listened well and he hope went away with a better understanding of how to do good, fast turns.
Practice Update – Thank you to everyone who attended practice this past week. Listening has greatly improved and a great deal more is getting accomplished. Practices will continue to increase in intensity. Be sure to bring a water bottle – a filled water bottle – to practice. Be sure to use the restroom before practice, as restroom breaks will be very limited. If you are 13 and older – try to come for two hours. It will only help you become a better swimmer.
Medical Forms – There are still a few swimmers who have not turned in medical release forms. I do not have medical forms for Dillon Marx, Mackenzie Clark, Lauren Neidlinger, Ashley Kougher, and Devon Martin. If you already filled these out, for some reason the forms did not make their way to me, do if you could resubmit these forms, then my file will be up-to-date. Thanks!
