Membership

Being a member of the YMCA means being a part of a community. Your community. It's far more than fitness equipment or swimming pools. That might be the reason you join. But the reason you stay is about the relationships you build and a belief in our mission. Becoming a member is quick and easy. A visit to our membership office, a tour of the facility and a few paperwork items to take care and we'll get you on your way to enjoying your membership quickly. Membership hours vary by branch, but rest assured, there is always someone on hand to get your questions answered.

The Youngstown YMCA's 'Metro' association includes the Central Branch YMCA in downtown Youngstown, the D.D. & Velma Davis Family YMCA in Boardman and YMCA Camp Fitch in North Springfield, PA.

Financial Assistance

The Youngstown YMCA is dedicated to providing services, based on Christian principles which enable all persons, regardless of race, religion, sex, income or physical ability, to achieve their full potential in spirit, mind and body. For this reason, financial assistance, made available through generous contributions, is available to those individuals or families who feel that the YMCA would benefit them physically, emotionally and spiritually, but who cannot afford the cost.

1 Rates do not include the joining fee, a one-time fee assessed as long as your membership remains current. The joining fee is $70 for an individual and $140 for a family.

2 Rates do not include a state mandated 6.75% sales tax.

3 Family memberships consist of head-of-household, spouse and any dependent claimed on your income tax that resides with you.

4 HFD (Health and Fitness Division): HFD membership provides adult, male members with access to a special HFD locker room at the Central YMCA in downtown Youngstown, which includes access to steam, sauna, towel service and personal locker. Certain restrictions and additional fees may apply. Contact the membership office at the Central Branch for specifics.

Membership rates are guaranteed for 12 months from the date of purchase. Membership dues can be paid annually or monthly through a monthly bank draft from your checking or savings account. Financial Assistance is available to individuals or families that are unable to afford membership or program fees.

The Silver Sneakers Fitness Program is the nation's leading exercise program designed exclusively for older adults. It is a unique blend of physical activity and socially oriented programming that enables members to take greater control of their health. Silver Sneakers reduces the barriers to exercise, promotes social interaction and encourages healthy lifestyle activities. Medicare-eligible individuals with select Medicare supplemental insurance are eligible to enroll in the Silver Sneakers Program at the YMCA.
